This tutorial is a simple editing exercise to illustrate the use
of the photo-editing oriented tools. It is meant to familiarize the user with
the basics of photo-editing and the use of layers and paths.
This tutorial exercise puts the user in a real layer-based
design session, where the user will be guided through creating a real world
layered graphic using layers. The user will be shown various tricks
and techniques, but will also be given room to explore and experiment with a
view to make them find the techniques that they are most comfortable with.
This tutorial teaches the user how to make GIF animations from videos; these are commonly used on discussion forums on the internet as “avatars” or “profile photos”.
